I am coming up on my second year of blogging..I have loved it from the start but honestly, it just started getting really fun the last few months. Erica from golden egg vintage and I connected. Her support and her blog opened my world to so many blogs that "fit me" blogs that I enjoy so much. I feel like I have made many new wonderful friends the past few months. I love reading all about their collections, creations, finds, about them, family stories and everything that goes along with the personal touches of a blog. Thank you for letting me into your world and thank you for supporting my blog! I cherish it dearly.

tea bag

my gf is due with her baby boy in a couple weeks... 

I found this little tea bag holder at an estate sale last week-

I got an idea..

She loves tea.... 

a new mom will do about anything to get some sleep after baby comes..

 I had a cup of chamomile tea every night before I would nurse my babies..

it calms them- calms mommy...makes baby sleepy

 I whipped up a sweet little bag- 

tied some tea together 

and tucked her dish in

A little thoughtful something just for her

now..we wait for his arrival!

I had the opportunity at one time in my life to assist in daily activities and to care for a  sweet, caring and funny lady- she was like a grandma to me- my times with her were too few before she left this earth a year ago- I  loved her and I will always remember her- I am lucky enough to be able to help in the process of organizing her home and have been able to keep some things from her that I will treasure.

A- line skirt

skirt season is right around the corner- I got this wonderful Amy Butler barcelona pattern last fall at sewtropolis - it sat in my "to do" pile all winter- I thought I better get a move on it so I can actually wear it this summer instead of dreaming about it!

Liberty of London fabric... so dreamy!!

I made a handful of zipper pouches last fall and kept this one a side for me-

how perfect to have with my stink'n cute skirt!

I made the A- line skirt but there are 

two other skirt options with this pattern

I absolutely love how it turned out and it was super easy- I had a little trouble installing the zipper but I got through it- I will be making more- so easy and cute with a tank top and your out the door! Now...warm weather!

Lefton..makes me happy

I was given the most thoughtful gift yesterday from a friend- doesnt it make you feel the best when you know someone really took the time to pick the most perfect gift just for you? Look what I got!! I still cant get over it..

If someone is taking the time to buy me lefton china- they know what I like! This 3 piece set of adorable lefton bunnies came as a thank you hostess gift from my dear friend Sheila. We celebrated her yesterday on the upcoming arrival of baby boy! I was not expecting such a wonderful thank you gift..I freaked out! I stare at them every time I walk buy. Ah, love. Thank you my sweet friend! You know how to make a girl happy!!

i was so lucky to join in on both of the boys valentines parties!

i love how there is no pressure on valentines day..

i picked up these meat market hats..we called them chef hats..boys loved it!

they rolled out sugar cookies and cut out hearts to decorate 

 rolled out dough for a delicious pizza! 

o what fun we had... then a little flour fun with daddy-

i hope our kids remember all the fun we have together!

so after some wonderful snuggle time with the new baby (they loved the burp rags) i was needing more sweetness to add to the day- nolan and i made a delicious batch of

oh yes- chocolate chip cookies! they didnt smell as good as that brand new baby but they are good- both my boys love to help whenever i pull something out in the kitchen- nolan and i had a fun time- i love having that 1 on 1 time with him- its hard for me to believe i was holding him so tiny three years ago already-

our best friends from the fire dept had their baby this past weekend- i cant wait to get my hands on him tomorrow when i meet him for the first time. We were not able to visit in the H due to all my boys flu germs... i get him all to myself tomorrow instead- im more than ok with that!!

sweet little baby Tanner these are coming your way tomorrow-

a little fire fighter fabric sewn on burp rags (will get used:)) and wrapped up with bakers twine and a vintage fire card...of course.

sissy is 40

I am sitting here this morning remembering how my sister and i were once little...
this weekend we celebrated her 40th birthday- this is a new beginning for her as she looks forward to what her 40's will bring and i couldn't be more happy for her!!

happy birthday to my sister- my best friend.  you are beautiful inside and out- i love you more than you will ever know- cheers to your 40's sissy- you deserve the best!
